Thomas Lee Bush Sr. of Austintown passed away on Saturday, October 26, 2024, at 10:10 a.m. in Omni Manor Youngstown. He was 89 years old.
Thomas was born on June 11, 1935, in Kyger, WV, the son of the late Gerald F. and Murrel Smith Bush.
He was a graduate of Belpre High School and furthered his education at Marietta College. Following high school, he enlisted in the US Army and was a parts specialist and served his country twice during the late 1950’s.
Mr. Bush worked for Public Finance for many years and later sold carpet until his retirement
Thomas attended Immaculate Heart of Mary Roman Catholic Parish and was active in the Knight of Columbus and the American Legion. He was also a blood donor through the American Red Cross and has donated more than 122 times in his lifetime. He also was a Webelo Troup Leader for his son’s boy scout troop. Thomas enjoyed woodworking and playing with his tools in his free time and even built a barn for his wife to keep her horses. He also enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren.
Mr. Bush is survived by his 5 children, Peggy (Bill Ferry) Wilson of Austintown, Barbara (Bob) Gibbs of Mecca, Tom (Fran) Bush Jr. of North Canton, Val Baiss of Austintown, and Joyce (Tim) Feeney of Austintown; a former daughter-in-law Mary Beth Bush of Champion; sister, Sandy (Wayne) Carr of Florida; 8 grandchildren; and several great and great-great grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Dolores Madish Bush; and a sister, Nancy Mullins.
