Thomas Joseph Candle, Jr., 60, of Wellsville, passed away peacefully at home on November 2, 2025, surrounded by his beloved family after a courageous battle with cancer.
Born on August 31, 1965, Tom was a proud graduate of Western Beaver High School. Shortly after, he honorably served his country as an Airman in the United States Air Force, a time that shaped his discipline, strength, and sense of duty.
After his military service, Tom built a successful career as the owner and operator of a GNC store in Las Vegas, Nevada, where he worked for 13 years. Beyond his professional accomplishments, Tom's true joy in life came from being a devoted father. His daughters, Gabrielle, Darian, and McKenna-were his greatest pride.
Tom loved taking family vacations, especially to Ocean City, Cedar Point, and historical landmarks such as Washington, D.C. and Jamestown. He was an avid and talented pool player, known for his competitive spirit and easygoing charm. Those who knew him remember his quick wit, broad knowledge of just about everything, and a contagious laugh that could light up any room.
He had a strong presence and a kind heart, and his family describes him as "one of a kind"-to know him was to love him. Tom also had a love for music and was famous for singing to his daughters, even if he didn't always hit the right notes. His warmth, humor, and devotion will forever be remembered by those whose lives he touched.
Tom is survived by his mother, Darlene (Pennington) Candle; his sisters, Dana (Mark) Elliott and Jody (Daniel) Pridemore; his daughters, Gabrielle, Darian, and McKenna Candle; and many loving aunts, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. He was preceded in death by his father, Thomas Joseph Candle, Sr.
A service in remembrance of Tom's life will be held at 6:00 p.m. Wednesday, November 5th, at Dawson Funeral Home in East Liverpool, Ohio where friends may visit three hours prior to the service from 3:00 to 6:00 p.m.
Following the service, friends and family will gather at the Dawson Family Center for fellowship.
Tom's memory will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him. His laughter, wisdom, and unwavering love for his family will never be forgotten.
