Gene was born on December 15, 1936 in Altoga, TX to John and Flora Carson. When he was four years old, his family packed up their car and moved to California, where he made his lifelong home. Gene was an incredibly hard worker who never slowed down. When he was young, he worked on a farm bailing hay and doing other odd jobs. Heinz Company and remained there for 47 years, until the plant closed. Gene thrived during retirement. Spending most days on his boat fishing or doing work around the house. He worked a few part time jobs to keep himself busy. He worked for Tracy Cadillac driving cars from one dealership to another. He also worked at Gottschalks in the receiving department until the store closed. He loved working in his yard, sharing herbs, plums and apricots with friends and neighbors, and spending every moment he could with his two youngest Grandsons. He was a member of Journey Christian Church in Tracy, as well as a lifelong member of the Golden Anchor Boat Club. He leaves behind his wife of 46 years, Patricia, Daughters Debbie Sommerfeld (Scott) of Ripon, Ann-Marie Russell (Jordan) of Riverbank, Sons, Tom (Julie) of Modesto, Robert (Maryanne) of Manteca, 5 Grandchildren, 2 Great Grandchildren and his Sister, Shirley Locke (Mike) of Lodi.
