Thomas Joseph Cashman, 71, of Ames, Iowa, passed away Thursday, April 4, 2024, at home.
Thomas was born December 7, 1952, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, the son of Joseph L. and Mary Lou (Gaffney) Cashman. He graduated from Waterloo High School in 1971 and attended Buena Vista College. He was united in marriage to Vicki Weuve Kramer in 1993 in Des Moines. Vicki Preceded Thomas in death in 2019. Tom worked as a car salesman for most of his career, and as a sales representative for Justice Brothers. Tom had a real passion for all things music. He really shined when he was helping others celebrate with his DJ and Karaoke services or playing the drums in his band. Tom enjoyed being outdoors, whether it was on a boat, motorcycle, fishing, hunting, or golfing. Most of all, Tom enjoyed sharing laughs and making memories with his family and friends. Tom was a man that made everyone feel welcome in his presence and like you had known him for years, he had never met a stranger. He will be greatly missed by all that knew him.
Thomas is survived by a son: Dallas (Katie) Cashman of Ames, Iowa; a daughter: Jennifer Cashman of Britt, Iowa; stepchildren: Scott McAtee, Courtney Kramer, Ryan Kramer and his grandchildren: Brenna Cashman, Cora Cashman, Caleb Lyster, Katlyn Lyster (fiancé, Dakota), Jaiden Reinking, and Alexis Reinking.
Thomas was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Vicki; and his brother, Robert Cashman.
Visitation will be 4:00 – 6:00 PM Wednesday, April 10, 2024, at the Rasmusson-Ryan Funeral Home, 1418 Fawcett Parkway, Nevada, Iowa.
