Thomas G. Ciccarillo

Thomas G. Ciccarillo, 98, of Bloomfield, CT, beloved husband of Beth Ellison, passed away on Saturday, December 27, 2025 surrounded by his loving family. He was born June 11, 1927 in New Britain, CT, son of the late Frank and Rose (Capitanio) Ciccarillo. He grew up in New Britain, graduated from New Britain High School, and then proudly served in the US Army at the end of WWII. He went to Bentley College on the GI Bill and worked in the insurance business before earning his master's degree at CCSU and entering the field of education. He worked over 20 years as a teacher and administrator in the Hartford Public Schools. A man of deep faith, Tom was an active member of St. Maurice Church in New Britain, and then of Sacred Heart Church in Bloomfield, where he served as a trustee and a lector. In retirement Tom enjoyed long summers at his cottage on Cape Cod with his family and friends, and he traveled extensively with his wife. Tom was a lover of music and played a mean drum. Besides his wife Beth, he is survived by two sons, Dennis Ciccarillo and his wife Kate of Canton, CT; Guy Ciccarillo and his wife Cindie of Hebron, CT; two grandchildren, Simon Ciccarillo of McLean, VA and Emma Ciccarillo of Plainville, CT; a brother-in-law, Boyd Ellison and his wife Mary Wain of Charlotte, NC, and many nieces and nephews.. He was predeceased by his first wife Rita (Gagne) Ciccarillo, his brother Dominic Ciccarillo and his sister-in-law Jayne (Palin) Ciccarillo, and his brother-in-law Jim Thompson and sister-in-law Muriel (Gagne) Thompson.
Special thanks are given to the skilled nursing staff at Seabury for providing excellent care for Tom. The family will receive friends on Monday, January 5, 2026 from 9:30-10:45 am followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 am, all at Sacred heart Church, 26 Wintonbury Ave., Bloomfield, CT. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Sacred Heart Church, 26 Wintonbury Ave., Bloomfield, CT 06002.
