Thomas Connellan Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Carlson Funeral Home on Apr. 22, 2024.
Thomas More Connellan, 71, of New Britain, husband of his beloved wife Linda (Camarata) Connellan of 42 years, passed away Tuesday (April 17, 2024) at the Hospital of Central Connecticut in New Britain. Born in Portland, Maine, he was son of the late Joseph and Anita (Daniels) Connellan. Tom was a resident of New Britain resident since 1977 and was a 1970 graduate of East Catholic High School in Manchester. He earned his degree in Mechanical Engineering and worked in the Aerospace Industry. He was employed at Teleflex Aerospace Company in Manchester, and previously worked for the former Fafnir Bearing Company in New Britain. He loved to work. Working truly defined him. Tom was a former member of the Spartan Veterans Club. He was just a good guy who had a laugh so loud it made other people laugh with him. Tom was a kind fellow who had a heart of gold and was always willing to give a helping hand. Tom enjoyed Formula Car Racing. He had a love for animals and enjoyed spoiling his pet animals over the years. He loved Italian food, especially meatballs that Linda, being Sicilian decent, cooked for him on traditional Sundays.
Every morning it was ritual for Tom to get his coffee and enjoying playing his scratch off tickets. Linda and Tom for many years, went to Rhode Island at their little getaway to enjoy being at the ocean.
Besides his wife Linda, he leaves two brothers, Joseph Connellan of Saco, ME and Matthew Connellan, also of Maine; a sister, Patricia Walmsley of Windham, CT; his sister-in-law, Jonna Connellan, his sister-in-law, Joan Datelle and brother-in-law (who was his best friend) Francis Datelle; several nieces and nephews. He also leaves his cat, Honey. Tom was predeceased by his brother-in-law Randy Walmsley and nephew Randy Walmsley Jr.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday April 26, 2024, 10:30 AM at St. Maurice Church, 100 Wightman Rd., New Britain. There are no calling hours. A scholarship fund will be established in Tom's honor. Carlson Funeral Home, New Britain, is assisting the family with arrangements.
