Thomas John Cutshall, age 71 of Spring Grove passed away May 9th at his home.
Tom was born in Gettysburg on March 29th, 1952 and was the son of Charles and Mildred (Blocher) Cutshall. Born and raised in a time when life was simpler and more straightforward, Tom quickly developed a fondness for speed and machinery. He worked as a machinist for AMP, Allis-Chalmers and Caterpillar and a wire EDM Specialist at AMP and Tooling Dynamics.
He had a passion for Harley Davidsons, racing, and a respected collection of guns and he was a member of the Jefferson Sportsmen Club. Tom's love for racing was not limited to just being a spectator. The rumble of a Harley Davidson was more than just a sound to Tom; it was a melody that embodied freedom and the open road's spirit. His passion for these powerful machines was infectious, often rubbing off on those around him.
A man of precision and detail, Tom's interest in guns was more than just a hobby. It served as a testament to his belief in personal freedom, self-reliance, and respect for the power one holds. He was a responsible owner who valued safety above all, often spending hours meticulously maintaining his collection.
Tom's greatest joy came from spending time with his family. He is survived by his children, Terri Cutshall and her wife Melissa Kuschel, Chris and Tammy Cutshall, Heather Henry and Matt Gladfelter, Justin and Jen Cutshall; and his grandchildren, Tim, Katie, Ally, Brayden, Alexis, Collin, Ella, Zyan, Asher, Titus and Rose; and his sister Judy Beighner-Ebbert. He has now rejoined his parents and grandson, Nash in heaven.
Tom imparted his love of adventure, respect for machinery, and the importance of family onto them. His children remember him as a father who taught by example, always encouraging them to pursue their passions, to be unafraid of life's twists and turns, and to always hold family close to their hearts.
He was a rock, a source of strength and stability, not just for his family, but for everyone who had the good fortune to know him. Tom's steadfast nature and old-fashioned values made him a man of his word, someone who could always be depended on.
A funeral service in celebration of Tom's life will be held by the family on May 26th at 4:00pm at Praise Community Church, located at 705 S Ogontz St. York PA 17403.
