Tom Dalling was born on December 11, 1953, in Sacramento, California, to Frank and Shirley Dalling. He was the second of five children, growing up in a close-knit family that would shape the values he carried throughout his life.
Tom was a devoted father to three children-Toni, Greg, and Jeff-and a proud grandfather to Izzi, Jack, and Paige. He is survived by his wife, Laura; his sister, Deanna; and his brother, Rob. Tom was predeceased by his parents, Frank and Shirley, whom he cared for deeply, even helping his mother relocate to Kansas to be near family.
Throughout his life, Tom worked in the industrial sector, spending many years as a dedicated plant manager. His strong work ethic and desire for growth led him to earn a bachelor's degree from the University of Phoenix later in life-an achievement he was proud of.
Tom lived life on his own terms. Athletic and energetic, he loved sports and took pride in coaching his children's baseball and softball teams, affectionately known as "Coach." He had a passion for Harley-Davidsons, restoring old trucks, and fixing anything he could get his hands on. A true classic rock fan, Tom enjoyed the music of the Eagles, Creedence Clearwater Revival, Elvis, and the Rolling Stones.
Tom was outgoing, sometimes stubborn, and always fiercely independent. Later in life, he made his way to Kansas to be closer to his sister, choosing to make it his home after the passing of his mother. A man of strong convictions, Tom was deeply conservative and a loyal viewer of Fox News, with a well-known admiration for President Trump.
A funeral service to honor and celebrate Tom's life will be held at the Catholic Church in Collyer, Kansas, on May 5, 2025, at 1:00 p.m. All who knew and loved him are welcome to attend.
Tom led a full and meaningful life, one marked by love, hard work, and living true to himself. He will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by all who were lucky enough to cross his path.
