Thomas Oliver Day, 85, late of Snellville, GA passed away January 30, 2025 at Piedmont Eastside, surrounded by family.Tom was born March 28, 1939 in Jacksonville, FL to Bennett Oliver Day and Martha Juanita Day.A devoted son, he was the oldest of three children along with Barbara and Diane.A loving husband, Tom married Lana Marie Martin in 1958 and raised a family for 58 years, until her passing in 2016. As a veteran, Tom served his country both stateside and overseas in France in the United States Air Force.A wise father, Tom helped raise his sometimes unruly flock of children, Gregory Thomas, Bryan Thomas, Kevin Sean, Christina Marie and Matthew Keith. A contented grandfather, Tom was always holding the latest addition to the family.A man of deep faith, Tom and Lana regularly attended church.Tom worked a variety of jobs throughout his life mainly in management or sales. He was a school bus driver later in life for Newton County.He researched his family tree and the Mighty 8th Air Force when computers became available. Tom loved dogs, sweet tea and chocolate. Thomas Oliver Day lived a long and happy life accompanied by the love of his life Lana Marie Day.He was preceded in death and is now reunited with his wife, parents, siblings, and son Kevin.The funeral service to celebrate the life of Thomas O. Day will be held at 3:00 PM on Wednesday, February 5, 2025 at Tom M. Wages Snellville Chapel, Snellville, GA, with Rev. Richard Bobo officiating. Burial will take place Thursday, February 6, 2025 at 1:00 PM at GA Veterans Memorial Cemetery Milledgeville, GA. The family will receive friends prior to the service on Wednesday, February 5, 2025 from 1:00 PM until the time of service at the funeral home.Condolences may be sent or viewed at www.wagesfuneralhome.com.
