Thomas Deegan

DEEGAN, THOMAS J. Ocala – Former Horseheads resident Thomas J. Deegan (Tom) passed away on August 6, 2024, at the age of 89.
Tom was born in the Bronx, NY, on July 28, 1935, the son of the late Thomas and Hannah (Connors) Deegan. He received his B.A. from Adelphi University and his M.B.A. from Hofstra University.
Tom's beloved wife of 58 years, Patricia (Pat), predeceased him in 2018. He is survived by his son, Thomas (Susan) of Big Flats; his daughter, Mary (John Egan) of Maple Grove, MN; his son, Michael (Dolores) of Lynbrook, NY; ten grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
Tom enjoyed New York sports teams, cooking and humorous stories. Pat and he raised their three children in Horseheads, NY. They were parishioners of St. Mary Our Mother Church, with Tom as a lector and Pat in the choir for many years.
Tom was a purchasing agent for various glass manufacturing companies in New York, Tennessee, Pennsylvania, and Indiana. Pat and Tom retired to Ocala, FL, in 2001, where Tom enjoyed socializing with friends and golfing. The couple were Queen of Peace Catholic Church parishioners in Ocala, FL.
Family and friends are invited to his Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at St. Mary Our Mother Church, 816 W. Broad St. Horseheads, NY, on Friday, October 25, 2024, at 10 am.
