It is with great sadness that the family of Thomas O. Delaney announce the passing of a beloved son, brother, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and uncle on August 24, 2025. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

Thomas, "Tommy" was born on November 5, 1946, in Morristown, TN to the late Almeta and James William Delaney. He attended Judson S. Hill School and West High School in Morristown, TN. Tommy was a star athlete and served as captain of the West High Green Dragons football team. After high school, Tommy enlisted in the U.S. Airforce. He worked as a firefighter and serve active duty in the Vietnam War. He also enlisted and served in the U.S. Navy. After military service, Tommy worked as a police officer, security officer, and truck driver.

Tommy truly loved his family and loved spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He loved sharing stories and watching westerns. Tommy was a devoted fan of the Tennessee Vols, Tennessee Titans, and Denver Broncos.

Tommy is preceded in death by his mother, Almeta Delaney, father, James William Delaney, brother Ricky Delaney, and sister, Brenda (Delaney) Anthony.

He leaves to cherish his memory, his children, Daryl Delaney, Cher (Calvin) Chambers, Tomica (Eric) Gillette, Thomas E. Delaney, Sr (Kayla Foust), Derek Delaney, Sr, and Myron Delaney, Sr, his siblings, James Delaney, Bonnie Daniels, his grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and his nieces and nephews.

Visitation for family and friends will be Saturday, September 6, 12p at Dockery-Senter Funeral Home in Morristown TN. 117 E 3rd S Street, Morristown, TN 37813

Burial services will be Monday, September 8, 2p at the Veteran's Cemetery in Knoxville, TN.
