YARMOUTH - Thomas "Tom" C. Doyle, Jr., age 76, a resident of Yarmouth, Maine, passed away on January 10, 2026, due to complications resulting from Parkinson's Disease.
Tom most recently resided in Falmouth, Maine, and was a long-time resident of Bluefield, West Virginia. He moved to Maine in 2018 to be closer to family, a decision that brought him great comfort and joy.
Following his service in the United States Army, Tom built a long and respected career in retail purchasing. He began his career at Bluefield Supply Company and later retired as a plumbing and hardware buyer at Ammar's, Inc., the owner of Magic Mart stores. Tom greatly enjoyed his years there and formed many close friendships that he valued deeply.
After moving to Maine, Tom met Ginger Tessier of Hampton, New Hampshire. She was his devoted partner until the end of his life, bringing happiness, companionship, and love to his final years.
Tom is survived by his son, David Doyle of Croton-on-Hudson, New York, and his children, Christopher Doyle of Anchorage, Alaska, and Jonathan Doyle of Briarcliff Manor, New York, and their mother, Valerie Doyle also of Briarcliff Manor, who remained close to Tom and an important part of the family. He is also survived by his daughter, Laura Doyle Sanborn (Greg) of Yarmouth, Maine; and her children, Matthew Sanborn of Portland, Maine; Evelyn Sanborn of Jamaica Plain, Massachusetts; and Benjamin Sanborn also of Yarmouth.
He was predeceased by his parents, T. Clarence and Evelyn Doyle, and by his beloved wife, Rita Doyle.
Tom is also survived by Rita's children, Roberto Torres (Jeannie) of Roanoke, Virginia; Shane Green of Bluefield, West Virginia; and Seth Green of Bluefield, Virginia. Rita had nine grandchildren who were part of Tom's extended family, with Logan Green holding a particularly close and cherished place in Tom's life.
The family extends heartfelt gratitude to the compassionate staff at Bay Square at Yarmouth assisted living for their kindness, care, and support.
Tom will be remembered for his unwavering devotion to family and deep love for his home state of West Virginia. His grandchildren will forever cherish memories of swimming pool plunges, whitewater rafting, ziplining, adventures on water slides and amusement park rides, bicycling, and countless conversations about all things car related. Tom especially loved long beach walks with Ginger and adored any dog or cat, with special love for his beloved dog, Mollie, who will likely be the first to greet him at heaven's gates.
A celebration of Tom's life will be held this summer in Bluefield, with details to be shared later.
