Thomas Arthur Dube, Sr., of New Fairfield, beloved husband of Diane (Bessel) Dube, died at his home on Friday, August 8th. He was born in Stratford, on February 3, 1947, son of the late Joseph A. and Esther (Cook) Dube. He was a long-time member of the Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd in New Fairfield and contributed to building the church and serving in many different capacities over the years.

Tom was a Veteran of the Vietnam War, proudly serving in the infantry of the United States Army. Tom was a Master Mason, first learning the trade from his father-in-law Eric Bessel then starting his own company, Thomas A. Dube Mason Contracting. He also co-owned Du-More Mason Contractors with his brother-in-law Ronald Moore. Tom worked for the town of New Fairfield as the Public Works Director, Scalzo Realtors as a Property Manager, and Shawne Transportation making deliveries.

Tom's favorite thing to do was spend time with wife, children, and grandchildren. Tom shared the unconditional love of Christ with everyone, and he taught his family to do the same. He enjoyed working on projects around the house and would help anyone in need.

Tom will be remembered for his selfless heart, quiet strength, and patient spirit. He served his country with honor and his family with love. Whether teaching a skill, lending a hand, making "Papa Pancakes", or helping his grandchildren sneak cookies, Tom built both strong walls and strong relationships. To those who knew him, he was love in action: patient, kind, and humble. His legacy lives on in the lives he touched.

In addition to his cherished wife of 56 years, Diane, he will be missed by his three children, Dawn Schwack (Paul), Thomas A. Dube II (Kate), and Catherine "Katie" Dube; 10 grandchildren, Oksana, Paul "Trey" (Abigail Fuller), and Maya Schwack, Cheyenne, Emilie, and Kiera Dupre, Thomas III, and Katharina Dube, Melody and Travis Arthur Dube. He is predeceased by his sisters Lois Miklaszewski, Jane Alger, Elaine Zimmerman, Michelle Vazquez. He is survived by his siblings Sharron Dube, Donna Rauber, Valerie Negri (Dave), Jill Jackson (Larry), Joseph Dube (Jackie), and Jeffery Dube (Kay) as well as many nieces and nephews.

We give thanks to God our Father through Jesus Christ, our Lord, for our brother Tom.

Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, August 14th at 11:00am at the Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd 2 Colonial Road New Fairfield, CT. There are no calling hours.
