Thomas Donald Eastling, 75, passed away on Tuesday, March 7, 2023 at his home in Bemidji.
Memorial services will be at 3:00 pm, Saturday, March 18, 2023 at the Evangelical Free Church in Bemidji, MN with Pastor Jerry Johnson officiating. A visitation will be one hour prior to the service.
Tom was born on June 3, 1947 to Donald and Alberta Eastling in Duluth, MN. He was the loving, protective big brother to Allen. The family later moved to Wheaton, IL where Tom graduated high school.
In 1967 he returned to Minnesota, attending Oak Hills Bible Institute where he met the love of his life. He and Ruth (Page) were married January 8th, 1969 in Bemidji. God blessed them with the addition of Becky Ruth and later Brian Thomas. In 1983 God directed them to begin working with Wycliffe Bible Translators in Waxhaw, NC, where he put his many skills to work in support of those ministering around the world. Tom loved serving his Lord by helping people in many practical ways.
In 2008 he & Ruth were thrilled to move back to Bemidji, MN. Many a deer and fish were successfully harvested, cleaned and enjoyed because of Tom's love of God's Creation.
Tom was predeceased by his parents and his brother. He is survived by his wife, Ruth, his daughter, Becky Ruth, of Waxhaw, NC and son, Brian (Becky Jean) and grandchildren Teddy (fiancee' Rose Acker), Chris, Rachel and Ben Eastling and honorary grandchildren Max & Ashley Cheney all of Bemidji.

Dear Ruth, Becky, and Brian,

Tom was my last people care person before I married my British wife and switched to Wycliffe UK. He was eager and caring, and I really appreciated him at a time when I was a bit disillusioned with Wycliffe.

May God grant you His comfort and peace as you grieve.

John
