Jane Ann Thompson passed away on September 25, 2025, at the age of 76, at Trillium Memory Care from complications related to Parkinson's disease. Born on March 10, 1949, in St. Paul, Minnesota, she was the beloved daughter of Marlin and Jean Youngren.

Jane grew up in St. Paul and graduated from Highland Park High School in 1967. She continued her education at Gustavus Adolphus College, where she graduated in 1971. During her college years, she met her future husband, Jerry. The couple married on December 26, 1970, while Jane was completing her senior year and Jerry was attending the University of Minnesota Medical School.

After Jerry completed his medical and surgical training, Jane and Jerry moved to Bemidji, Minnesota, in 1978, where they raised their four children. Jane's life was filled with many interests. She enjoyed baking, sewing, quilting, and was deeply involved in volunteering with numerous community organizations and the First Lutheran Church in Bemidji. She was known as a loving and selfless wife, mother, and grandmother.

Jane was preceded in death by her parents, Marlin and Jean Youngren. She is survived by her devoted husband Jerry; her four children: Jacob (Ester) of Tampa Bay, FL, Jessica (Mark) of Eden Prairie, MN, Jeffrey (Heidi) of St. Louis Park, MN, and Jill Gordon (Joel) of Anchorage, AK. Jane is also survived by five grandchildren: Lucas, Siri, and Erik of St. Louis Park, MN; Ryan and Nick of Tampa Bay, FL; and her sister Judith Youngren of St. Paul, MN.

Jane's legacy of love, kindness, and selflessness will forever remain in the hearts of her family and all who knew her. As we say our final goodbyes, we find comfort in the many cherished memories and the profound impact she had on our lives. Her spirit will continue to guide us, and her love will be our eternal comfort. Rest in peace, dear Jane. You will be deeply missed and forever cherished.

Jane had arranged for her body to be donated to the University of Minnesota Anatomy Department. The family will hold a graveside service at a future date.
