Thomas "Eddie" Eckstein, 68, of New Ulm died Friday, January 5, 2024 at Mercy Hospital in Coon Rapids with his family by his side.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 11 AM Tuesday, January 16, 2023 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in New Ulm with Father Joshua Bot celebrating the Mass. Burial will follow in the New Ulm Catholic Cemetery.
Visitation will be 4 - 7 PM Monday and 9 - 10:30 AM Tuesday at the Minnesota Valley Funeral Home NORTH Chapel in New Ulm.

Tom is survived by his daughter, Casey Eckstein of New Ulm; sons, Aaron (Jennifer) Eckstein of New Ulm and Doug Eckstein also of New Ulm; grandchildren, Aidan, Ethan and Brooke; sisters, Beverly (Jack) Friend of Rochester, Mary (Dave) Withee of West Fargo, North Dakota, Cathie Eckstein of New Ulm and Barb (Ken) Rieke of St. George; his brother, Brad (Jan) Eckstein of New Ulm.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Thomas Eckstein was born August 15, 1955 in New Ulm to Anton and Harriet Eckstein. He attended New Ulm Catholic Schools and was a 1973 graduate of New Ulm High School. Tom farmed for many years and was employed at Heymann Construction until his retirement. He enjoyed tinkering and fixing things at home and the farm and was a volunteer with Meals on Wheels.
