Thomas J Ellison

Thomas J. Ellison, 71, of Vermontville, a well-respected and beloved husband, father and grandfather, died unexpectedly on Monday, July 18, 2022 at his home. Tom was born August 1, 1950 in Mason, MI, the son of Nick Arnold and Pearl Isabelle (Crosby) Ellison. At the age of 19, Tom volunteered for the Vietnam War, and proudly served in-country in the U.S. Army. Upon his return in 1972, he settled into family life and married his life-long love, Julie Elaine Rowlee on December 14, 1973 in Grayling. Together the two raised a son, and enjoyed 49 years of marriage. Tom worked for the telephone company in his early years as well as operating heavy machinery on construction sites. Most recently, he worked for the Postal Service, delivering mail by semi-truck. Following his retirement in 1998, Tom enjoyed time spent with his grandchildren, nieces and nephews, and good friends, especially fishing for catfish on the Grand River.
Tom is survived by his wife, Julie Ellison; son, Dan Ellison of Grayling; grandsons, Nick and Jasper Ellison; brothers, Ken Ellison, Rod (Sue) Ellison, Bob Ellison and Roger Ellison; sisters, Nancy and Pat; and several nieces and nephews and extended family. He was predeceased by his brothers, brothers and sisters-in-law, and his parents.
