Thomas Falentano Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Fred H McGrath & Son, Inc. - Bronxville on Jan. 24, 2026.
Thomas Dennis Falantano, age 86, passed away peacefully on January 23, 2026.

Born on January 30, 1939, in Manhattan and raised in the Bronx, Tom carried his love of family, friendship, and New York sports with him throughout his life. A devoted dad, proud grandpa lovingly known as Pop Pop, partner, and loyal friend, Tom was the kind of person who showed up for the people he loved. His life was defined by kindness, generosity, and a deep devotion to family.

Tom's love of baseball and basketball began early and never faded. A lifelong New York Yankees and Knicks fan, he enjoyed nothing more than watching a game, talking sports, and sharing those moments with others. He placed great value on long-standing friendships and continued to get together with his high school friends, a testament to his loyalty and the meaningful connections he maintained throughout his life.

Tom was predeceased by his first wife, Suzanne, who passed away on May 19, 1999. Together they built a family that remained at the center of his life. Tom is survived by his children, Judi (Eric) and Tom; his beloved grandchildren, Jack and Ryan, who brought him endless pride and joy; and his partner of 24 years, Gudrun, with whom he shared companionship, love, and life. He will be deeply missed by his family and friends, and remembered for his warmth, steady presence, and the way he made people feel welcome and cared for.

Services will be held at Fred H. McGrath & Sons Funeral Home, 20 Cedar Street, Bronxville, NY, on Tuesday, January 27, from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM.
