Thomas Laverne Farrar, Jr. of Cedar Hill, Missouri, was born February 13, 1965 in Sullivan, Missouri to Thomas Sr. and Carol (nee Nickelson) Farrar and entered into rest Wednesday, October 9, 2024 at the age of 59 years.
He is preceded in death by his parents; daughter-in-law, Kim Farrar; granddaughters, Ada and Lillian Farrar; and his dog, Marley.
He is survived by his loving wife of 41 years, Cynthia (nee Bowlin) Farrar; children, James (Rachael) Farrar, Jessica (Andrew) Stephens, Kayla (Daniel) Lawing, Amanda (Michael Newport) Farrar, and Emily (Jeffrey) Ruth; grandchildren, Hazel Farrar, Hadley Farrar, Kenley Stephens, Hank Stephens, Rylee Lawing, Wayland Lawing, Owen Newport, Taylor Ruth, and Jeffrey "JJ" Ruth; sister, Tina O'Brien; along with numerous other extended family and friends.
Thomas, lovingly known as "Hey Tom," was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and brother who cherished his family deeply. Recently retired from Laborers Local 110 and a proud member of the High Ridge Elk's Lodge, Tom embraced life with enthusiasm and humor, whether it was enjoying live music, camping in his new camper, or jet boating. An avid outdoorsman and gun collector, Tom found joy in nature, adventure, and simple times of sitting on his porch with his loved ones. A true history buff, he was full of fascinating facts and loved to share his knowledge. Tom's love for his dogs, Jolene and Cowboy, and his cat, Marvin, showed his kind heart. In true "Hey Tom" fashion, as he would often say with a grin, "All right then"-his final sign-off for now, until we meet again.
Visitation will be held on Friday, October 18, 2024 from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. at Chapel Hill Mortuary, 6300 Highway 30, Cedar Hill, MO 63016. Funeral Ceremony will immediately follow at Chapel Hill Mortuary in Cedar Hill, MO.
In lieu of flowers, checks can be made payable to the Kim Langford Farrar Scholarship.
