Thomas J. Ferraina, 74, of Stamford passed away on Friday, December 27, 2024 at Stamford Hospital. He was born on September 15, 1950 in Girifalco, Catanzaro, Italy to the late Salvatore and Maria Rosa Signorello Ferraina. At age 5 he emmigrated from Italy and moved to the Westside of Stamford near Stillwater Avenue. As a youth he worked a paper route and at Sal's Pastry Shop.
After graduating from Stamford High School in 1970, Thomas pursued his education at Sacred Heart University and Pace University, earning a degree in accounting. He initially worked as an accountant and then dedicated over 30 years of his life to public service as a clerk at the United States Postal Service in Norwalk. Thomas' passion was to care for his family and devoted his life to his grandchildren. He gave his grandchildren a love of stamp collecting and Italian music and motorcycles. He was known for his infectious smile and energetic personality, bringing joy and laughter to all who knew him. He will be greatly missed and loved forever.
He is survived by his loving daughter, AnnaMaria Vazquez and his son in-law, Jose, two loving grandchildren, Joey and Marco Vazquez, all from Westport; as well as a niece, Nicole Borsey, and a grandniece, Olivia Borsey, both of Stamford, who lovingly referred to him as "Uncle Tom". They will all remember his vibrant spirit. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his sister, Domenica Ferraino.
Visitation will be on Friday, January 10th from 4pm to 8pm at Bosak Funeral Home, 453 Shippan Avenue, Stamford, CT.
