It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of Thomas Eugene Fettinger, who left us on September 6, 2025, at the age of 81. Tom was born on September 1, 1944, in Anderson, Indiana.
Tom dedicated 40 years of his life to General Motors as a customer contact engineer and was a proud veteran of the United States Army. A member of the Wilkinson Church of Christ, he was known for his unwavering faith and community spirit. Tom also enjoyed a range of interests, from USAC Racing to being a volunteer fireman in Wilkinson. He served on the Sheriff Reserve in Hancock County, the Police Reserve in Greenfield, and was actively involved with the Christian Motorcycle Association. He even worked for the American Speed Association as a Flagman and contributed his time at Community Corrections in Hancock County. Tom was also proud to be a member of the Masonic Lodge in Anderson.
He leaves behind his beloved wife, Marcia Fettinger, his children Lisa (Steve) Downs and Troy (Dama) Fettinger, along with 15 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
Tom was preceded in death by his parents, Rentice and Berniece Fettinger, and his sister, Joan Fettinger.
Visitation for Tom will be held on Saturday, September 13, 2025, at Bozell Funeral Homes, Condo Chapel, located at 130 South Main Street, Wilkinson, IN, from 10:00 A.M. to 12:00 P.M. A graveside service will follow at 12:30 P.M. at McCray Cemetery.Please join us in celebrating the remarkable life of Tom Fettinger and the many ways he touched our lives. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made out to American Cancer Society.
