Martha Joanne Pring 96, of Markleville, passed away peacefully on October 20, 2025 at her home, surrounded by her family. Joanne was born on March 12, 1929 in Markleville to the late Warner "Pete" and Dona (Goudy) McCormack. She graduated from Markleville High School in 1947 and was the last remaining member of her class.
Joanne found her spiritual home at Markleville United Methodist Church and was a faithful member for many years until it closed. Recently, she had been attending East Christian Church in Markleville. Joanne was also the last remaining member of the Markleville AMVETS Post #25. She was a huge sports fan, especially the Indiana Pacers, Fever, and Cincinnati Reds, where she had a tradition of attending opening day every year with her friends and family. A true snowbird, she would travel to Florida every year, but before leaving for Florida she would have Christmas Breakfast, a tradition started by her mother and continued on through Joanne. Most importantly, she loved her family and cherished the time spent together.
Left to cherish her memory is her son, Robert (Dee) Pring of Markleville; daughter, Teresa Stoops of Markleville; grandchildren, Brian (Crystal) Pring, Jamie (Dennis) Prewozniak, and Jeremy (Rachael) McKenney; great-grandchildren, Dexter Pring, Savannah Pring, Ashley McKenney, Kaylee McKenney, Kadia Prewozniak, and Chase (Hailey) McQuiston; great-great-grandson, Soren McQuiston; and numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Ralph Pring; son-in-law, Donald Stoops; four brothers; and one sister.
The visitation will take place on Friday, October 24, 2025 from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Bozell Funeral Homes-Condo Chapel, 130 S. Main St., Wilkinson, IN 46186. The funeral ceremony will begin at 2:00 PM at the funeral home. Burial will take place in Mechanicsburg Cemetery, Middletown, IN.
