Thomas J. Furey 87 of Ravenna passed away Tuesday, March 21, 2023 at the Hospice of the Western Reserve in Medina. He was born May 29, 1935 in Sharon, PA to William and Gertrude (Steines) Furey. Tom was a member of Immaculate Conception Church, a graduate of Youngstown State and Michigan State Universities and was the President of Sta-Warm Electric. Survivors include children Bill (Cindy) Furey, Alice (Richard) Hogue, Beth Ann (Douglas) Cook, Amy (David) Ligan and grandchildren Kristy, Meaghan, Michael, Morgan, Abby, Rachel, Madison, Tyler and Benjamin and great grandchildren, Reaghan and Caileigh, and his wife, Judith (Kellogg). He was preceded in death by his parents, his first love and wife of 48 years, Martha, and siblings Eileen Tobias and Bill Furey. Calling hours will be from 5 to 8 PM Friday, March 24, 2023 at Shorts Spicer Crislip Funeral Home Ravenna Chapel. A Mass of Christian burial will be held at 10 AM Saturday, March 25, 2023 at Immaculate Conception Church, 409 W. Main Street, Ravenna, OH 44266. Father William Kraynak will officiate. Entombment will follow in St. Mary Cemetery in Ravenna. In lieu of flowers memorials should be made to Immaculate Conception Church or National Multiple Sclerosis Society, 6133 Rockside Road, Suite 208, Independence, OH 44131-2217.
