Thomas Paul Furlette (Tom), a devoted father, grandfather, son, and brother, passed away peacefully on November 29, 2023, at Heartis in Suwanee, at age 63 with his loving family by his side.
In honor of Tom's life, and to cherish the wonderful memories he leaves behind, a celebration of life will be held open to family and friends on Tuesday December 12, 2023 from 4pm to 7pm, in the Peachtree Corners Chapel of Crowell Brothers Funeral Home (5051 Peachtree Industrial Blvd., Peachtree Corners, GA 30092). A Funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday December 13, 2023 at 10:30am, at St. Benedict Catholic Church (11045 Parsons Road, Johns Creek, GA 30097), with Father Paul Flood officiating. Following the mass, a luncheon will be held at the church. Tom's burial will be held privately at Peachtree Memorial Park.
Tom was born on May 14, 1960 in Flint, Michigan. He was the beloved son of James L. Furlette Sr. and the late Mary C. O'Dea Furlette. Tom was also a loving brother to Donna M. McClung, James L. Furlette Jr., and the late Dennis C. Furlette.
After graduating from Rose-Hulman with a BS in Electrical Engineering, he married his loving wife Martha Lynn Furlette on September 28, 1985. Together they built their life filled with love, laughter, and cherished memories. Their bond remained strong and unbreakable throughout their 38 years of marriage.
Shortly after marrying, Tom and Lynn moved to Atlanta in 1986 to start their family. By May of 1987, their first son was born, Thomas Edward Furlette (Ted). By August 1988, their second son Andrew James Furlette (Drew) was born. Tom supported them thru their athletic and academic endeavors, even becoming a coach for their basketball and baseballs teams. Tom always wanted the best for his sons, and was an integral part in their lives.
All the while being an attentive husband and father, Tom embarked on a successful career as an Engineer and Salesman. Tom's exceptional skills and unwavering dedication made him an irreplaceable figure in the Engineering Services industry, earning him the position of Director of Sales. One of Tom's best accomplishments though, was making life lasting connections and friendships thru coworkers and customers over his 36-year career.
Tom adored his grandchildren, Kaden Reid Neal and Andrew James Furlette Jr. (AJ), who are sons to Andrew James Furlette and Krystal Lee Brooke Furlette. His eyes sparkled with pride and joy when he was in their presence. Better known as Bobo to his grandchildren, Tom cherished the moments spent with them, nurturing their individual talents, and creating everlasting memories.
One of Tom's last memories was being able to attend his eldest sons' Thomas Edward Furlette's wedding with Alex Galkina Furlette. Tom was so happy to see both of his sons happily married and successful.
Outside of work and family, Tom enjoyed many hobbies. He enjoyed spending time fishing, golfing, listening to music, and watching his favorite team the Michigan Wolverines. He also loved traveling and exploring new destinations with his wife, childhood friend Mike Dew, and college buddies (Ernie, Stu, Steve, Jim, and Beerman Brian).
Tom Furlette will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. His legacy of strong faith, unwavering kindness to others, dedication to family, and exceptional professional achievements will forever be cherished.
"Sometimes it's not about the years we live, but the depth of love we leave behind."
"Remember, no man is a failure who has friends."

My condolences to Tom's family. Tom and I were fraternity brothers at Rose. We shot a lot of hoops together. He was just a great guy.
