Thomas Gallegos Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by San Jose Funeral Home - Eastside on Jan. 26, 2023.
Thomas Gallegos III, aka Tommy was 47 years old when his life was cut short by senseless violence. God took him on Friday night, January 20, 2023. Tommy came into this world on August 7, 1975, in El Paso, Texas. Tommy was never a little bitty baby. He came out big and strong, almost nine pounds.
As a newborn he was wearing clothing for a 3-month-old baby. Tommy grew up with his Grandma Lola and his first babysitter, Grandpa Alfredo. Greg became an instant father gaining a 4-year-old. Tommy wanted to be carried around and he was not a light weight little boy. He was 60 lbs. of energy. His Dad labeled our three sons – SML (Tommy being large). Tommy was always the biggest kid in class at Roberts Elementary. There he made many lifelong friends.
In spite of the brothers being different they were tight. He was a big guy with a big personality. He was our teddy bear with a big heart. Tommy was very proud of being certified as a professional truck driver. Tommy was our fun and loving son. He enjoyed life to the fullest. He especially enjoyed taking his boat out to Elephant Butte Dam to go fishing with his wife, Margo. He shared his life with Margo, the love of his life. Together they were building a good life together. Tommy was an animal lover. Recently a puppy had been dumped in the yard where he worked in Pecos so knowing Tommy, he fed her and provided shelter. He then brought her home to El Paso. Her name is Yodee. Tommy is preceded in death by his grandparents, Grandma Dolores (Lola), Grandpa Alfredo Campos and Grandma Seferina Wilkins.
He is survived by his wife, Margo Alvarez, her sons Justin and wife Valerie Gimenez, Oscar Saenz, and Anthony Saenz and two grandchildren Jacob and Zachary. He is also survived by his parents Greg and Dora Martinez, brothers Diego Martinez and Marcos and sister-in-law Ali Martinez, and niece Katherine Martinez aka Kat. Others survivors include, Aunt Romelia and Uncle Rick Stempihar; Godparents; Aunt Veronica and Uncle Rey Dominguez, Jr., Uncle Alfredo Campos, Jr., Aunt Lillian Martinez and Uncle Joe Lima; Uncle Gabriel Martinez; cousins Little Rey Dominguez III, Bobby and wife Diana Dominguez, Ivan Campos and sons Richard and Trystan, Vanessa and Matt Pestritto, their children River and Roman, and Jackie Miranda. Other survivors include many loving family members and dear friends. Tommy also leaves behind his beloved pets: Traviezo, Oreo, Gypsy and his latest rescue Yodee. Tommy, we love and miss you.
The family would like to thank Mark and John Castillo for all their help. We would also like to thank San Jose Funeral Home and especially his aunt Lyzza Campos aka Zully, We are forever grateful to all that have comforted us with prayers, kind words, traveling to be with us, and monetary contributions.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, February 1, 2023 at San Jose Funeral Home-East, 10950 Pellicano Dr. 79935, from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. The Catholic Service will commence at 6:30 p.m., Graveside Service will be on Thursday, February 2, 2023 at 11:30 a.m. at Memory Gardens of the Valley, 4900 McNutt Rd., Santa Teresa, NM 88008.

We love and miss you Tommy. The memories of our 20's and 30's are filled with a ton of laughter, hilarious moments, lots of partying, and crazy talks until the break of dawn. You are remembered for your soft spot behind the tough guy, the bright smile you could light a room with, and your magnetism amongst the humans. You are Gold and your essence is engraved into the memories of our youth forever.
