Mr. Thomas "Tommy" Darwin Gaskins, age 76, went Home to his Heavenly Father on Tuesday, February 3, 2026, at Wesley Long Community Hospital.
A funeral service will be conducted 2:00pm Tuesday, February 10, 2026, at McLeansville Baptist Church with Rev. Matthew Hobbs and Rev. Mike Barnette officiating the service. Mr. Gaskins will be laid to rest in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:00pm - 2:00pm Tuesday at McLeansville Baptist Church.
Born on October 5.1949 in Bennettsville,SC to John Thomas Gaskins and Lois Turner Gaskins.
He was a beloved husband to wife Barbara and their bond was a true testament to love and partnership.
He was a Vietnam Veteran 1st Cav. His passion was reading and studying God's word. Tommy studied at The Bible Institute of Greensboro where he received his diploma in Bible, Theology and Church Ministries. He ministered at The Piedmont Rescue Mission for 12 years and loved feeding and spreading the word of God to the homeless of Greensboro. Tommy also loved to shop for antiques and army memorabilia. He was a faithful member of McLeansville Baptist Church where he enjoyed singing in the choir. His favorite memory with Barbara was getting their beagle puppy Betsy.
He was preceded in death by his parents ,sister Patricia (Sue) Young and brother William (Buster) Gaskins.
Survivors include his wife Barbara , sisters Faith Webb of Chesterfield,SC and Dianne (Ronnie) Sellers of Darlington,SC.
