Thomas John Gianino

Thomas John Gianino, a resident of Washington Township, passed away on December 14, 2021 at the age of 83. A son of John and Frances (nee Russo), he was born on May 10, 1938 in Detroit. Thomas proudly served his country in the United States Navy. He married the love of his life, Judy McKeague, on January 23, 1960 at Our Lady of La Salette Church in Berkley. Thomas made his career as a barber for 60 years, opening Tommy G's Barber Shop in Washington and Warren 49 years ago.
At the barber shop, Thomas would play pinochle with colleagues and customers, trading hands when he needed to style hair. He loved his family dearly, especially his grandchildren. Up north, Thomas owned a boat which he aptly named La Familia. Thomas treasured the memories made around the dinner table with his family. He will be dearly missed.
Beloved husband of Judy, joined in love for 61 years. Loving father of Frances (David) Pavloff, Jacquelyn (Mauro) DeiGiudici, Patricia (David) Lucia, and Judy Ann (Steven Kramer) Gianino. Cherished grandfather of David (Amanda) Lucia, Francine (Andrew) Wagley, John (Jessica) Lucia, Michelle (Jacob) Rosiek, Stefany (Andrew Scheys) DeiGiudici, Thomas (Kelley) Pavloff, Jaclyn DeiGiudici, Gina DeiGiudici, Amanda (Jeremy) Sutton, Angela (Austin) Peak, Rachel Kramer, Sophia Closs, and Samantha Closs. Treasured great-grandfather of Alivia Lucia, Addyson Wagley, Josephine Lucia, David Rosiek, Amelia Wagley, Levi Lucia, Anthony Rosiek, Gino Rosiek, Kaitlyn Lucia, and three little ones on the way. Dear brother of Rose (Leonard) LaRocca. Thomas was preceded in death by siblings Sebastian (the late Terry) Gianino and Mary (the late Gerard) Foley, brother-in-law Daniel McKeague, and parents-in-law Mae and Frank Welker. Thomas will also be remembered by many nieces and nephews.
A visitation for Thomas will be held on Sunday, December 19, from 2:00 to 8:00 pm with a Rosary Service at 7:00 pm at Wm. Sullivan and Son, 8459 Hall Rd. (3 blks E. of Van Dyke), Utica, 48317. Thomas will lie in state of Monday, December 20, from 9:30 am until time of Funeral Mass at 10:00 am at St. Clement of Rome Catholic Church, 343 S. Main St, Romeo, 48065. Thomas will be laid to rest at Resurrection Cemetery in Clinton Township.
