Mr. Thomas E. Greenhill, Jr., fondly known as "Rooster," age 78, of Big Rock, TN, passed away peacefully on Sunday, July 20, 2025, at Dover Care Center, with his devoted family by his side. He was born in Clarksville, TN, on December 25, 1946, the son of Thomas Edward Greenhill, Sr., and Martha Jane Judd.
Rooster was a hardworking man and a dedicated provider for his family. He spent his career as a timber cutter, enjoying the fresh scent of the woods and the peace of nature. He also supplied many friends with bundles of campfire wood, earning a reputation for reliability and generosity. Rooster was a member of New Hope Church of God, where he worshipped with his family. He cherished time with loved ones and made many lasting memories together.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Thomas and Martha.
Rooster is survived by his devoted wife of 58 years, Linda Greenhill; sons, Bart Greenhill (Tammy), Derek Greenhill (Dawn), and Greg Greenhill; daughter, Deena Brake (Norman); sister, Korine Walters; grandchildren, Andrew Greenhill, Maegan Wilson, Victoria Brake, Kayla Mathis, Ethan Seifer, Jeremy Booth, Madison Greenhill, and Kayli Greenhill; and eight great-grandchildren.
Visitation and funeral services will be held on Tuesday, July 22, 2025, at New Hope Church of God. Visitation will begin at 11:00 a.m., followed by the funeral service at 1:00 p.m., with Bro. Carl Newberry officiating. Burial will follow at Heflin Cemetery.
Serving as pallbearers are Bart Greenhill, Derek Greenhill, Greg Greenhill, Norman Brake, Andrew Greenhill, and Ethan Seifer.
