Thomas “Tom” William Gregory, age 72, passed away peacefully on January 17, 2026, at the Hospice House of Laurens County. He was born on March 17, 1953, in Clinton, SC, at Hayes Hospital, to the late James Capers Gregory and the late Helen Douglas Gregory.
A graduate of Clinton High School, Tom continued his education at Texas A&M before dedicating several years of his life to serve in the United States Army, where he was a member of the Military Police. Upon returning to civilian life, he took on the role of Meat Market Manager for BI-LO and later traveled across the country while working as a Food Inspector for the USDA.
Tom's faith was an integral part of his life, as he was a devoted member of the Baptist faith and an active member of Holly Grove Baptist Church.
He is survived by his loving wife of 45 years, Connie Morris Gregory; his sisters, Becky G. James and Carole G. Wicker; two nieces raised in the home, Heather K. Gossett and Kaleigh K. Simmons; his sisters-in-law, Ruth Gregory and Sheila Roberts; his brother-in-law, Johnny Price.
In addition to his parents, Tom is preceded in death by his brothers, Jim Earl Gregory and Douglas Gregory; and his sisters, Frances G. Roach and Cora Ether Price.
A Memorial Service with Military Honors will be held on Thursday, January 22, 2026, at 3:00 PM at Holly Grove Baptist Church with Rev. Scott Hines officiating. The family will receive friends in the church sanctuary prior to the service from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM.
