Thomas Daniel Grimes of Waxahachie passed away at Legend Oaks on August 12th 2024 at the age of 89. Thomas was born to Mr. And Mrs. Lonnie Grimes on August 31st 1934 in Rice Texas. He graduated from Waxahachie High School in 1952. Sometime after Thomas fell in love with Frances Grimes. They had 3 wonderful children that they enjoyed very much. As he grew in his career he worked for Southwestern Life Insurance. He was nicknamed spoon for his humorous personality at work. He retired from Southwestern Life and traveled as much as he could. He enjoyed traveling, eating, and having fun in his amazing lifetime. After the loss of his first wife (Frances), he re-married to Joyce Grimes to whom he spent some wonderful time with until her passing in 2018.
He is preceded in death by his 2 loving parents Mr. And Mrs. Lonnie Grimes, Siblings Shirley DeLuca, Mickey Grimes, Bobby Grimes, Son Steve Grimes, 1st Wife Frances Grimes, 2nd wife Joyce Grimes, and grandson (Tommy) Thomas Grimes.
He is survived by one brother Danny Grimes and his wife Stella, Son Timothy Grimes, Daughter Debbie Grimes, step son Terry Douthit and wife Cindy, step daughter Dana Hernandez and husband Sebastian, Grandchildren Emma Grimes, Jennifer Davidson and husband Bobby, Alyssa Cave and husband Griffin, Katyln Grimes, David Grimes and wife Macey, Amanda Brock, Jr Hernandez and wife Janelle, Paul Hernandez and wife Suzette, Ryan Hernandez, and more nieces and nephews as well as many great grandchildren.
