Thomas Price Hamm passed away June 5th surrounded by a room bursting with family and friends.

He was diagnosed with esophageal cancer almost a year to the day and inspired others with his amazing attitude even on his toughest days. And there were many. Every morning he’d start the day with Toby Keith’s song, “Don’t Let the Old Man In,” and he lived by that creed till the very end.

Tom was known for his colorful language, his bawdy sense of humor, his passion ‘ahem’ for golf (he left putters in ponds in golf courses stretching from Hawaii to Scotland and every pond at North Hills), his shoe collection that put Imelda Marcos' to shame, his prowess at H.O.R.S.E. in Thomas and Tracy’s backyard pool, and especially his no holds barred friendships. If you were his friend, he’d go to the ends of the earth for you.

He owned a very successful business and retired with reluctance when the cancer hampered his ability to serve his customers with the dedication he had always provided.

Tom is survived by his wife, Peggy (Oberste) Hamm; his mother and father, Marilyn and Thomas Hamm; his favorite sister, Terri Snowden (David); his niece and nephew, Anne-Elizabeth Wynne (Grant), David Snowden III (Adele) and their children, Palmer, Grant, Davis and Cecile; and his uncle, Bob Price (Stella). Along with literally hundreds of people who call him a close friend. Tom was preceded in death by grandparents, George and Mae Price and Helen Hamm; and uncle, George Price (Betty).

His family would like to thank his amazing nurses at CARTI, the wonderful staff that cared for him at Baptist Health Medical Center in North Little Rock, and Dr. Muesse at UAMS. Tom was blessed with so many friends it’s hard to mention all the people who were there for him. But special call outs to his friends Thomas McVey and Blake Ketzscher who always made sure we were fed, and his good friend Joel Tester who called him every night after his diagnosis to check on him.
True angels.
