Mr. Thomas Leon Hampton, Sr., better known as "Sweet" of Hampton Hill entered eternal rest on Saturday, February 15, 2025, at Sovah Health in Martinsville, Virginia.
He was born June 6, 1945, to the late Robert Hampton, Jr and Cellie Hairston Hampton. He was married to Annie Elizabeth Hampton and was self-employed. A faithful member of the Star of Bethlehem Way of the Cross Church in Cascade, Virginia where he could be found on the front seat. "Sweet" was also known to many as the "Pallet Man".
"Sweet" could be found often riding a tractor/bulldozer or watching westerns. He enjoyed fishing and going to the flea market on Saturday mornings. A kind and generous man he would help anyone that was in need.
"Sweet" was preceded in death by a daughter, Lafaye Ann Hampton, grandson Antwain Hampton and his brothers whom he has now been reunited with.
He leaves to cherish his memories, his wife Annie Elizabeth Hampton; children, Margaret Sims, Thomas Leon Hampton, Jr., William Hampton and Danyell Hampton; his twin brother, George "Buchie" Hampton (Liza); a very special grandson Antonio Hampton (Jessica); a daughter in love Beatrice Childress; a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews other relatives and friends.
A memorial service will be held Saturday at 2:00 p.m. from the Sunny Home Baptist Church 11178 NC-770 Eden, NC 27288. Elder D. J. Jumper, Eulogist
