Thomas E. Hedrick, age 91 of Crawfordsville, IN, passed away at 3:35 p.m. on March 12, 2026 at the Lane House in Crawfordsville.
Thomas was born on October 28, 1934 in Crawfordsville, IN. He was the son of Randolph and Dorotha Kelsey Hedrick. Thomas grew up in Garfield and attended New Market School. Thomas was a life-long grain and livestock farmer. He worked for 12 years at Plastene before farming full-time, which he retired from in 2008. Thomas married Peggy Hawkins in Gatlinburg, TN on January 16, 1993. They moved to Crawfordsville in 2006 and had resided there since.
Thomas was a member of the Indiana National Guard for 8 years. He was a member of New Hope Christian Church. Thomas had been a Mason since 1979 and was a member of the Crawfordsville F&AM Lodge and Scottish Rite of Indianapolis. He was also a member of the Crawfordsville Eagles and American Legion. Thomas was a co-founder of Montgomery County Pioneer Association. He collected and restored antique tractors and enjoyed attending tractor shows. Thomas also served on the board of Farm Service Agency and was a board member of the former Westland Co-op, now Keystone. Thomas enjoyed people, he never met a stranger.
Surviving with his wife, Peggy, are: children, Jim (Trudie) Hedrick of Bringhurst, IN, Raymond Hedrick of Crawfordsville, IN, and Brenda (Brad) Jordan of Westfield, IN; Peggy’s children: Shelley (Kevin) Spees of Zionsville, IN, Anita (Aaron) Emmert of Thorntown, IN, and Aaron (Dana) Ford of Lebanon, IN; 21 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren; Brother, Robert (Beverly) Hedrick of Crawfordsville, IN, Sister, Marilyn Barker of Phoenix, AZ, many nieces and nephews. Tom was preceded by his parents; daughter Terri; and grandson Troy Long.
A graveside service will be held on Thursday, March 19, 2026 at 3:00 p.m. at Indian Creek Hill Cemetery with Pastor Mike Whitacre officiating. Memorial contributions may be made to New Hope Christian Church. Arrangements are entrusted to Family & Friends Funeral Home of Wingate. Online condolences may be made at www.familyandfriendsfh.com.
