Mineral Point - Thomas Carl Heins, age 77, passed away peacefully on Monday, November 17, 2025, at Crestridge Nursing Home in Dodgeville, Wisconsin.

Tom was born on May 2, 1948, in Platteville, WI, the son of Lloyd and Helen (Klinge) Heins. He graduated from Mineral Point High School in 1966 and married the love of his life, Chris Grange, in June 1969. Together, they raised three sons and built a life rooted in family, hard work, and community.

Tom grew up farming in Belmont before settling in Mineral Point. Known throughout the area for his carpentry skills, Tom also worked at Lands' End and devoted 46 years as a beloved school bus driver, safely transporting generations of students.

He was a member of the United Church of Christ in Mineral Point and proudly served in the Army Reserves. Tom was also a dedicated member of the Independent Order of Odd Fellows, where he served as Grand Master for several years.

Tom found great joy in spending summer weekends at Lake Joy, where he and Chris enjoyed their permanent campsite, surrounded by friends and the beauty of nature.

He is survived by his loving wife, Chris, and their three sons: Tim (Linda) Heins of Lodi, WI; Todd (Lori) Heins of Zimmerman, MN; and Trent (Michelle) Heins of Mineral Point, WI.

Tom was a proud and devoted grandfather to Bridget (Rod) Lynn, Roseanna Heins, Sarena (Keaton) Hildreth, Hannah Heins, Joey Heins, and Carson Heins, and a cherished great-grandfather to Wesley Lynn, Melanie Lynn, Jeremiah Heins, and Laken Hildreth.

He is further survived by his brothers Bill (Margaret) Heins, Bob (Nancy) Heins, Don (Merrie) Heins; sister Kay Heins; and siblings-in-law Linda (Larry) Schaaf, Pat Mester and Bill (Cindy) Grange, as well as many nieces and nephews.

Tom was preceded in death by his parents, Lloyd and Helen Heins; his stepmother, Gladys Heins; and his in-laws, Delmer and Madge Grange.

Tom's legacy is one of quiet strength, steady dedication, and unconditional love for his family and community. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, November 22, 2025 at 12:00 PM at the CONGREGATIONAL UNITED CHURCH OF CHRIST in Mineral Point. Pastor Daniel Yeazel will officiate. Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery.
