It is with sadness that we announce the passing of a beloved son, brother, and uncle, Thomas Michael Helpling, who left us on January 5, 2025 at the age of 68 after a series of health challenges. Tom was born on August 1, 1956, one of four children of Vincent Helpling and Florence (Link) Helpling. He graduated from Northmont High School and became a professional painter, running his own business for many years. Tom is survived by his sister, Rosanne (Helpling) Auer, and her husband, Martin; his brother, Jim Helpling; his sister Carol (Helpling) Rocco, and her husband, David; and his nieces and nephews including Matt Helpling, Jeremy Rocco, Gracie (Rocco) Liubovich and her husband Dan Liubovich, and Sophie Rocco. Tom was a fun-loving man with an infectious smile. He was an incredibly talented painter who settled for nothing less than perfection. On a nice day he could be found outdoors and was known for riding his bike throughout the Dayton area as a young man. Health and fitness were important to Tom, and he had a passion for researching and sampling the latest in nutritious foods. He enjoyed his collections and interacting with people who shared his interests. His passing leaves a void in our hearts. Services will be held at the convenience of the family.
