Thomas Jude Hensgens

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Thomas Jude Hensgens, a beloved husband, father, and friend, who departed this life on January 20, 2026, at the age of 70. Born on November 2, 1955, in Shreveport, Louisiana, Thomas lived a life filled with dedication, love, and compassion for those around him.

Thomas was a devoted landowner and a proud member of the member of the community, where he worked hard to support his family and contribute to the land he cherished. Being a steward of the earth, he never hesitated to lend a helping hand to those in need. As a faithful member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, he served his community with generosity and commitment, embodying the values of kindness and compassion that he held dear. He was known for his warm laughter, his witty sense of humor, and his unwavering support for his family, always finding joy in the simplest moments spent together.

For 36 wonderful years, Thomas shared his life with his loving wife, Trina Autin Hensgens; also left to cherish his memory are his three children, Megan Bertrand (Christian), Katherine Ange (Sal), and William Hensgens; and six cherished grandchildren, John Christian Bertrand, Jane Catherine Bertrand, Thomas Leo Bertrand, Margaret Katherine Ange, Michael Joseph Ange, including one grandchild on the way. His family was his greatest joy and source of pride, and they will forever carry his memory in their hearts.

A public viewing will be held at Miguez Funeral Home in Jennings on Tuesday January 27, 2026, starting at 9:00 AM. A Rosary will be recited at 12:00 PM in the funeral home chapel leading into the time to depart for mass at 12:30 PM.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church at 1:00 PM with Father Trey Ange and Father Anil Alexander officiating. He will be laid to rest in Calvary Cemetery under the direction of Miguez Funeral Home.

Thomas was preceded in death by his parents, Conrad and Gertie Mae Hensgens.
