Thomas Hewett Obituary

Born on June 26, 1948, Tom proudly served his country as a Vietnam War veteran of the 4th Infantry Division, completing two years of service before beginning a long and successful career in the floor covering industry with Hewett Inc., Gilford, and Ohio Valley Flooring. Known for his sharp mind and a natural talent with numbers, he built a reputation as a trustworthy and hardworking professional. But it was his kind heart and easy smile that truly set him apart.
Tom was the son of the late Robert H. Hewett and Florence M. Hewett. He is survived by his beloved wife, Susan (Kleier) Hewett; his son Jack Hewett and wife Katie, and their children Halle and Griffin; his daughter Maggie Hewett; and his brother Robert Hewett and wife Donna. His family was the center of his world, and he found immense joy in the time he spent with them-especially his grandchildren, who always brought a sparkle to his eye.
A man who never met a stranger, Tom had a way of making everyone feel welcome. His positivity, warmth, and generosity left a lasting impression on all who knew him. Whether cheering on Kentucky or Cincinnati sports teams, teeing off on a sunny golf course, or attending mass at St. Michael's Church-where he was an active and faithful member-Tom lived with joy and purpose.
He leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and grace, and will be deeply missed by all who had the honor of knowing him.
Visitation will be from 2-8 pm on Sunday, April 13, 2025 at Ratterman and Sons Funeral Home Jeffersontown 10600 Taylorsville Rd. His funeral mass will be 10 am on Monday, April 14, 2025 at St. Michael Catholic Church 3705 Stone Lakes Drive. His burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery.
Expressions of sympathy may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
