Thomas Hickman, age 60, passed away on December 21, 2025. He was born on February 23, 1965, in Kaufman, Texas, and spent much of his life in the area he proudly called home.
Thomas was a graduate of Crandall High School and was truly a jack of all trades. An exceptional craftsman, he could build or fix just about anything put in front of him. His skill was matched only by his generosity—Thomas was always willing to help, whether it was family, friends, or anyone in need.
Known for his quick wit and infectious sense of humor, Thomas had a natural ability to make people laugh and feel at ease. He never met a stranger and left lasting impressions everywhere he went.
He had a deep love for the outdoors, especially fishing and hunting. When fishing with others, Thomas somehow always seemed to be the one catching fish. If you switched spots with him, you could be sure he would start catching fish right where you had been—something family and friends joked was his special talent.
Thomas cherished his family deeply and loved spending time with those closest to him.
He is survived by his mother, Margaret Bradbury; sisters, Debbie Fry, Carla Hardy, and Anita Roach; brother, James “Buddy” Hickman; son, Dakota Hickman; grandson, Jax Wilder Hickman; granddaughter, Rose Hickman; and numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews whom he loved dearly.
He was preceded in death by his father, James Hickman Sr.; grandparents, Louis and Pauline Reynal; uncle, Tommy Reynal; aunt, Pauline Kelly; and cousin, Mark Anthony Hickman.
Thomas will be remembered for his kind heart, helping hands, and the laughter he brought into so many lives. His presence will be deeply missed, but his legacy of generosity and joy will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
