Services for Robert Jones will be held held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 26, 2025 at Antioch Baptist Church, 17422 Fm 317, Chandler, Texas 75758, with Pastor Donald Smith officiating. Visitation will be held Friday morning from 8:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. (noon) at Hilliard Funeral Home. A military graveside will be held in his honor at Dallas/Ft. Worth National Cemetery at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, July 28, 2025.

Robert Earl Jones, 76, of Ben Wheeler, Texas, passed away on Thursday, July 10, 2025. Born on September 29, 1948, in Van Zandt County, Texas, he was the beloved fourth son of Willia and John L. Jones, Sr.

Robert grew up in Van Zandt County, attending Redland Elementary School, Bragg Morris Junior High, and graduating from Crandall High School in 1967. A proud veteran, Robert was drafted into the United States Army and served honorably in the Vietnam War. Upon returning home, he dedicated over 35 years of his career to Trane Technologies in Tyler, Texas, retiring in 2011.

A man of deep faith, Robert was baptized and accepted Jesus Christ as his personal Savior, living his life with devotion and kindness. His steadfast spirit and commitment to family, work, and community left a lasting impact on all who knew him.

Robert is preceded in death by his parents, Willia and John L. Jones, Sr.; his daughter, DeWalla D. Jones; his sister, Helen E. Jones; his brothers, John L. Jones, Jr., Cecil L. Jones, and Phillip M. Jones; his nephews, Kenneth E. Jones and Robert D. Jones; and his great-nephew, Byron Jones, Jr.

He is survived by his devoted wife of over 50 years, Lorene Jones, of Ben Wheeler, Texas; his sons, Michael Johnson (Stephanie) and Mitchell Jones (Patricia); his grandchildren; Valesia Tilley, Londreyus Johnson Sr., Deundra Johnson, Davonta Johnson, Jazmine Johnson, Kendrick Kavon Jones, Kyla Jones, and Kamron Jones; his great-grandchildren, Brielle Johnson, Kyren Stelivan, Zyla Johnson, and Londreyus (LJ) Johnson, Jr.; his brothers, Carl G. Jones and Ira L. Jones, Sr. (Grusia); his sister-in-law, Francis Jones; and many cherished friends and community members.
