Thomas B. Hildebrandt

Canandaigua – Thomas B. Hildebrandt, age 66, passed away unexpectedly, on Sunday, November 23, 2025. He is survived by two children, Kyle (Jinilee) Hildebrandt and Amy (Richard) VanOpdorp; companion, Sue Spencer; five grandchildren, Liam, Mason, Joseph, Aria and Mara; father, Richard Hildebrandt (Nancy Stelnyk); two siblings, Rick (Rinda) Hildebrandt and Nancy (Mike) Yacci; step-father, Tom (Maureen) Welch; three step-children, Jessie, Ryan and Hannah Springett; several nieces, nephews and cousins; aunt and uncles. He was predeceased by his mother, Linda (Lutz) Welch in 2000.
Tom was born in Rochester and raised in Canandaigua. He attended Canandaigua schools and was a graduate of Canandaigua Academy, class of 1978. After high school, Tom worked in the family business, Welco Ad Corp. (Shopping News) for many years. He then became a certified HVAC Technician and later joined the Canandaigua City School District, where he worked for 16 years, retiring in 2024. Tom was an avid outdoorsman, who enjoyed fishing, hiking, hunting and camping. He also enjoyed music and formerly played in bands. Tom was a 'jack of all trades' and could fix anything. He loved spending time with his family and friends. Tom will be remembered as a family man and will be missed by all who knew him.
Friends may call Wednesday, December 3, from 4-7pm, at Johnson-Kennedy Funeral Home, Inc., 47 N. Main St., Canandaigua. His memorial service will be held Thursday, December 4, at 11am, at the funeral home. Interment will be in Woodlawn Cemetery, Canandaigua.
