Thomas Barry "Tom" Hinds

Thomas "Tom" Barry Hinds, age 84, of Ocala, Florida, passed away on November 15, 2025 at Cate's House Hospice of Marion County.

Tom was born in Salem, Indiana, to Ralph and Maxine Hinds on January 13, 1941. He graduated from Columbus High School in Columbia, Indiana, in 1958 and went on to earn a degree in public accounting from Ball State University. He worked for Price Waterhouse Accounting firm for many years and then began his own business, Accounting Resources International in the field of executive recruiting. He loved to read, do Soduko and crossword puzzles, and in earlier years he was a serious runner. He ran 16 marathons and ran the Boston Marathon in 1987. He was also a very active member of the Ocala Lions Club.

He is survived by his wife Marilyn, son Russell and wife Elizabeth, and all of his grandchildren: Brett Hinds (wife Ashley) and their children Mason and Harrison, Robyn Vallenilla (husband Adrian) and their children Emery and Lucy, Nicholas (wife Gaby) and their children Thomas and Theodore. Also, son-in-law Darrell Workman and his children Nathan Workman (wife Shannon) and their children Juli and Grace, Joseph Workman, Emily Hurley (Colton) and children Aiden and Lily.

He is also survived by his brother, James Hinds (wife Cheryal) and daughter Maggie and family; sister-in-law Sue Hoaglund and family.

Tom was preceded in death by his parents, Ralph and Maxine and his 2 sisters Ruth Ann Tyler and Maxie Hotz. Also, his beloved daughter Jennifer Workman.

Final arrangements are pending and will be handled by Roberts of Ocala Funerals & Cremations.
