It is with a heavy yet celebratory heart that we announce the passing of Thomas Edward Hoppenjans, 80, of Cincinnati, OH. A beloved husband, brother, and friend, Tom left this world peacefully on October 29, 2025, leaving behind a legacy of love, laughter, and an insatiable appetite for life.

Born on May 21, 1945, in Covington, KY, Tom grew up with a joy for adventure that followed him throughout his life. A proud United States Army veteran, he served as a Military Officer in Germany during the Vietnam War, exemplifying dedication, and commitment.

Tom enjoyed a fulfilling career in cosmetic production at Kao, where he brought creativity and skill to the assembly line. His passion did not end there-he was an enthusiastic fan of Cincinnati sports, always working for the Bengals, Reds, FC Cincinnati, and Cyclone Hockey. You could also often find him working at local concerts.

Family was everything to Tom. He loved spending holidays surrounded by loved ones, sharing delicious meals that often featured his favorite Skyline Chili and KFC. An aficionado of food in general, he was known for his sweet tooth, especially when it came to chocolate chip cookies. His warm spirit and willingness to help neighbors made him a cherished member of his community.

Tom's festive spirit shone during the Christmas season-he took great joy in decorating with lights and spreading cheer to all around him.

Tom is survived by his wife, Francine Hoppenjans; sister-in-law, Denise (John) Couch; sister-in-law, Sandra Blank and brother-in-law, Fred Kidwell. He will be missed dearly by his extended family and countless friends.

Tom was preceded in death by his parents; Edward and Helen Hoppenjans (nee Blick); his sister Barbara Massman; his sister-in-law, Linda Kidwell and his brother-in-law, Richard Blank.

Services will be held at Arlington Memorial Gardens Lakeside Chapel, 2145 Compton Road, 45231 (follow the red line upon entering the memorial park) on Tuesday, November 4, 2025, at 10:00 AM, where family and friends are invited to come together to remember Tom's life with stories, laughter, and love.

As we say goodbye to Tom, let us celebrate the joy he brought into our lives and the many memories we hold dear. In his honor, let's indulge in life's simple pleasures, just as he did-may we all find a moment to enjoy a chocolate chip cookie and cheer for our favorite team.

In lieu of flowers, family has requested donations be made in memory of Tom's life to Hospice of Blue Ash, 4310 Cooper Road, Cincinnati, OH 45242 or at https://hospiceofcincinnati.org/donate/.

Thank you, Tom, for the love and joy you shared. You will forever remain in our hearts.

I worked with him in the bleachers. Always fun working with him. I've only been an usher for 3 years, he was always more than helpful. He will be missed.

I have never known a world without Hoppy. Even though I didn't see him very much growing up, he was my dad's lifelong friend and I knew he was there if we needed him. He was always so kind and such a joy to talk to when I did see him. Since my dad passed, I got to see Hoppy a lot more at the luncheons with all their friends and my mom. He was a good honest man and he will be missed greatly by so many. Love ya Hoppy and I hope you and dad are having a great time together.
