Thomas J. Horrigan

1978 - 2025

Thomas J. Horrigan, affectionately known as T.J., passed away unexpectedly on August 1, 2025, in Pittsfield, Massachusetts. He was born on March 18, 1978, and lived a life filled with love, laughter, and a deep passion for his work and family.

T.J. dedicated his career as a highway superintendent for the Town of Alford, a role he embraced with joy and commitment. His larger-than-life personality made him beloved by many in the community, where he was recognized not just for his professional contributions but also for the warmth he exuded.

A proud graduate of St. Joseph Central High School in Pittsfield. T.J. carried with him the spirit of his upbringing in every facet of his life. A gentle giant, he was an avid lover of the outdoors, finding happiness in gardening and meticulously maintaining his property. T.J. took pleasure in watching hummingbirds flit about, a simple joy that mirrored his appreciation for the beauty in nature. Camping with friends at the Schroon River was another cherished pastime, where memories were made, and friendships reaffirmed under the stars.

T.J. leaves behind his loving wife, Lindsay (Dalzell) Horrigan, along with their beloved cats, Kanga and LeeLee, his brothers, James Bowlby, John (Selene) Bowlby, and Mark (Lisa) Horrigan, as well as his cherished nieces and nephews-Jayden, Jodi, Miranda, Nolan, Madison, and Ava. He is also survived by his brother-in-law, Rich (Teresa Bartlett) Dalzell, sister-in-law, Melissa (Kurt) Lilley, and mother-in-law, Betty Dalzell.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Timothy and Lenore (Menin) Horrigan. The legacy of T.J. Horrigan will continue to resonate through the hearts of those who had the privilege of knowing him, as he leaves behind memories that will be treasured forever. His love for life and the people around him will forever echo in the stories shared, the gardens tended, and the laughter of friends gathered in his memory. A time for sharing those stories and offering condolences will be from 1:00 to 4:00pm on Saturday, August 16, 2025 at Peck & Peck Funeral Homes, 8063 Route 22, Copake, NY. A memorial service to conclude the afternoon will begin at 3:30pm.
