Thomas Iceman

Thomas James Iceman, 79 of Ashland passed from this life on Tuesday afternoon, June 24, 2025 in Ohio Health Mansfield Hospital.
He was born on May 30,1946 in Mansfield, the son of the late James Iceman and Norma (nee Thomas) Stotts of Mansfield who survives.
Tom graduated from Lucas High School, Class of 1964. Following high school, he proudly served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War.
He married the former Tina Sparacio on February 14, 1970.
Tom retired after more than 28 years as a Lieutenant at Mansfield Correctional in 2011.
Throughout his life, he was an avid outdoorsman. He loved both hunting and fishing. In his earlier years, he played semi professional football and enjoyed playing slow pitch softball. He coached youth baseball for many years. He was an avid reader enjoying books authored by Louis L'amour. He loved his cats and fed all the wildlife around his home.
He is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Tina Iceman of Ashland; his children, Gary (Amanda) Iceman of Marion, Lisa (Erick) Summer of Amherst, and James Iceman of Ashland; eight grandchildren, Nicole (Mike) Rhinehart, Taylor (Jackie) Iceman, Andrew Iceman, Nicholas (Ashley) Cover, Kyle Cover, Alivia (Landon) Summer, Gage (Destiny) Iceman, and Brody Iceman; ten great grandchildren, and his siblings, Dean Iceman of Lucas, Charlie Iceman of Mansfield, and Fritz (Marsha) Iceman of Ontario.
Tom is preceded in death by his father, James Iceman; his loving maternal grandparents, Ma and Frankie Thomas; his father-in-law, Charlie Sparacio; his mother-in-law, Betty Sparacio; his sister-in-law, Shirley Iceman; and his three brothers-in-law, Chuck Ames, George Palmer, and Vito Sparacio.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, July 3, 2025 at 1:00 p.m. in the Denbow-Gasche Funeral Home with Pastor Dallas Waggle presiding. Interment will follow in the Ashland Cemetery where the Ashland Veteran's Honor Guard will conduct full military honors. Friends and family may visit one hour prior to the service from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Leukemia And Lymphoma Society or to Compassus Hospice.
