Thomas F. Crenshaw III (Tom), age 58, passed away peacefully on August 8, 2024 at the Wayne Patrick Hospice House with his family around him.
Tom was a creative talented musician and realized his dream of making music his profession playing in several groups ranging from hard rock to folk. For the past 20 years, he worked in the Hilton Head area and was instrumental in several music related businesses including Harden & Crenshaw, Moon River Productions and RockOm. Tom had a big heart and cared about people and loved making folks happy with his music. He loved the Beatles and RUSH and playing music any chance he got. He performed hundreds, perhaps thousands, of gigs and weddings and private events. His music gave him such joy.
Tom is survived by his wife, Cathy Berry Crenshaw, his son, Thomas Fennell Crenshaw IV (Tomtom) and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
He was predeceased by his mother, Judy Kay Waldrop; his father, Thomas Fennell Crenshaw Jr. (Buck) and his sister, Juanita Carol James, and nephew Matthew Brian James.
Tom was a seeker and dreamer and interested in spirituality, religion and philosophy. Perhaps now, in his passing, he'll finally get to find the answers to all his lifelong existential questions. But his family and friends most of all hope he's feeling peace and freedom and is somehow still carried by music.
A celebration of his life will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the Wayne Patrick Hospice House in Rock Hill, SC.

I am so sorry for your loss. Harden & Crenshaw performed several times at my holiday parties and they were loved by all who attended. Tommy was a special talented guy and I know he is missed. His music bought so much joy to all who heard it. Thank you for these memories!! Paulette Henderson
