Methuen, MA - Thomas J. Jacobs, 73, of Methuen, passed away peacefully on September 11, 2025 at Cedarview Nursing Home, surrounded by his loving family. Born in Lawrence on November 2, 1951, he was the son of the late Thomas R. and Rita (Morin) Jacobs. Thomas grew up and was educated in Lawrence, and he spent more than 20 years working at Cardinal Shoes before taking on a role he truly enjoyed as the maintenance supervisor at Fellowship Bible Church in Methuen. He proudly served there until his retirement in 2020. A man of strong faith, Thomas was a dedicated member of New England Bible Church in Andover. Thomas will be remembered for his gentle spirit and the way he cared for all living things. He loved animals of every kind, especially turtles, and shared a special bond with his cat, Baddy. More than anything, he treasured time with his family, who were the center of his world. He is survived by his devoted daughter, Erin Baranowski, and her husband Jonathan of Methuen; and his beloved grandchildren, Mariah, Jonathan Jr., Kira, and Aylah, who brought him endless joy. He also leaves behind his siblings: Veronica Jacobs of New Hampshire; Michelle Oberlin and her husband John of Ohio; James Jacobs of Lawrence; John Jacobs and his wife Elise of Lawrence; Suzanne Stevens and her husband Ray of Haverhill; and Joyce Cross and her husband Tom of Orlando, FL; as well as many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Thomas was predeceased by his siblings Kathleen Jacobs, William Jacobs, and Michael Jacobs. Family and friends are invited to celebrate his life on Tuesday, September 23, 2025 with calling hours from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at John Breen Memorial Funeral Home, 122 Amesbury Street, Lawrence, MA. A service of remembrance will follow at 12:00 PM in the funeral home. Thomas will be laid to rest at the Immaculate Conception Chapel and Mausoleum in Lawrence.
