Thomas "T.J," Jones, age 70, of Flora Vista, NM, passed away Thursday, May 8, 2025, at his residence with his family at his side. He was born on August 11, 1954, to Eileen and Tom Jones in Farmington, New Mexico.
He had a deep love for the outdoors and took great pride in his landscaping and gardening, always finding joy in working with the land. A talented and dedicated craftsman, he enjoyed woodworking, silversmithing, and taking on outdoor projects with creativity and care. He was also an avid hunter who cherished his time in nature, especially elk and deer hunting-pursuits that brought him both challenge and a sense of peace. His passion for the land and his craftsmanship was evident in all he created, leaving behind not only cherished memories but lasting works of his hands and heart. Known for his quick wit and warm personality, he was funny, friendly, and never short on conversation. Always ready with a good story and a lighthearted joke, he had a special way of turning small talk into shared laughter and genuine connection.
Above all, he deeply cherished and loved his family. He found his greatest joy in the time spent with them-offering unwavering support, sharing in everyday moments, and creating lasting memories filled with love, laughter, and care.
He is survived by his lovely wife Dr. Eleanor Francis-Jones, his children Francine Jones (daughter), Tamra Jones (daughter), Jessica Jones (daughter), his brother Joel Van Lee, his sisters Carolyn Palmer, Carletta Jones, Elvira Lee, and his grandson Ty Hunt. He was preceded in death by his parents, Eileen R. Lee and Tom Jones, and his brothers Milton Lee and Richard Lee.
A Viewing will be held Tuesday, May 13, 2025, from 12:00PM to 12:30PM, followed by a Celebration of Life service from 1:00PM to 2:00PM in the Chapel of Cope Memorial Chapel at 404 W. Arrington St., Farmington, NM. A Burial will take place at Greenlawn Cemetery, in Farmington, New Mexico. Reception will be held at the Farmington Civic Center at 4PM after the burial.

Bummy, I babysat you and took good care of you while mom and dad were at work. You came behind me and made messes while I cleaned mom's house. You were always a joy. You and your siblings. I will miss you but I know I will see you again. Journey well my little brother. You won the battle.

We send our deepest condolences to my sister, Eleanor, the girls, grandson and all who loved TJ. I have known TJ since High School and Eleanore, my clan sister is my best friend from HS. I have many fond memories from HS, over 50 yrs ago. I will always remember TJ as being the "life of the party"...talkative, cheerful, kind, helpful and a jokester. A really good person. A funny HS memory: As our teacher Miss Curtin called out our name during class roll call each student responded "here", except TJ- who responded "She´s´ a Lady" (a song by singer Tom Jones). Of course, the class broke out in laughter. May TJ´s journey to the stars be peaceful and may he rest high on that mountain. We send our love and prayers. Respectfully.....Dr. Sherry Allison and Alley David (Albuquerque).
