Mr. Thomas Ellis "Tommy" Kearns, 81, resident of High Point, passed away on Friday, July 25, 2025 surrounded by his loving family.

He was born April 10, 1944 in High Point, a son to the late Worfie Burl and Beulah Wright Kearns. As a resident of this area all his life, he graduated from High Point Central High School and worked in upholstery with Baker Furniture. He also served as a reserve officer with the High Point Police Department. Over the years he enjoyed coaching/volunteering on his sons' little league baseball teams, pitching horseshoes in his free time, and especially, spending time with his dogs, Sweet Pea, Cricket, Peaches and Tinkerbell, who were like his children.

On June 8, 1964, he married the former Donna Harrington who survives of the residence. Also surviving are two sons, Thomas Kearns and Steve Kearns (Casey); a brother, Douglas Kearns; two sisters, Christine Hamlin (Babe) and Sylvia Spivey; four grandchildren, Steven Matthew Kearns, Keri Kearns Ingram, Sydney Danielle Kearns and Cayden Allen Kearns; and ten great grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, James, Jack, and Donald Kearns; and sister, Marie Busdiecker.

A gathering of friends and family to celebrate his life will be held from 6:00-8:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 2, at Cumby Family Funeral Service in Archdale. A graveside service will be held one week later at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 9, a Lebanon United Methodist Church in High Point with Rev. Hallie Scott officiating.
