Tom E. Kerschner, 80, died on January 29, 2024. Tom was born February 7, 1943 in Farmersville, Ohio to Orville and Pauilne Kerschner. Tom graduated from Jefferson Township High School in 1961. After graduating with a Bachelors Degree in Geography from Central State University (Wilberforce, Oh.), Tom attended Miami University (Oxford, Oh.) where he earned a Masters Degree in Geography in 1974.

During this time he met his wife of 57 years Nancy Jean Coates. They were married March 5, 1966 in Dayton, Oh.

In November of 1974 Tom accepted a position with The Boy Scouts of America as Scout Executive. While working for the BSA Tom and family lived in Kansas, Minnesota, Arkansas and Tennessee. After 39 years Tom retired from the BSA, and moved to Tellico Village (Loudon, Tn.).

He is survived by his wife, Nancy, daughter Jennifer; older brother Don and sister-in-law Nancy.

Even in death Tom believed in helping others, which is why he donated his body to Lincoln Memorial University-DCOM Anatomical Donation Program.

Tom (or "Mr. Kerschner") as I called him, was my boss for several years when he served as Scout Executive of the Eastern Arkansas Area Council, in Jonesboro, Arkansas. He was a good man and was very devoted to his family.
