Obituary of Thomas Joseph Koury
Tom, aged 68, passed away peacefully on October 8th under hospice care at M Health Fairview Southdale. Tom is preceded in death by his parents, Anthony Sr and Mary Louise Koury. He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Lynn and his sons; Aaron and wife Tina along with first grandchild due in January of New Richmond, WI and Zachary of Hurley, SD.
Tom also leaves behind brothers Anthony Jr (Gail), Joseph (Jean), John (Julie), Paul (Wendy) and many nieces, nephews, and god-children as well as friends that will always be cherished as family.
Tom was a hunting and fishing enthusiast and it was his happy place throughout his life. He loved being in a boat, no matter the weather or if it was on a lake in Minnesota or Wisconsin he was the keeper of many secret spots to "slay the sunnies". The last four years of big fish fishing in the Florida Keys with his best friend Jim was the highlight of his winters. He loved hunting at the farm in the Fall, just being at the trailer, riding the 4-wheeler through the woods and sharing his time there with his family, friends and dogs. Hunting all over the Midwest with his sons and their dogs was always of great enjoyment and Tom loved seeing his boys do the same things he loved to do. To all of his fishing buddies he would say, " since I'm not fishing now, you at least have a chance to catch some."
To all who came to visit with Tom at home or during his many hospital stays, drove him to dialysis, and spent many hours out fishing with him, we as a family thank you for your love and support. To the hospice and nursing teams at M Health Fairview, thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your dedication and care; you are all angels.
Mass in honor of Tom (no viewing) will be held at 11am on Monday, October 28th at Holy Family Maronite Catholic Church located at 1960 Lexington Avenue South, Mendota Heights, MN 55118.
In Lieu of flowers the family would prefer Memorials.
